Last weekend, the University of Memphis Tigers beat the Cincinnati Bearcats (29-24) to win the American Athletic Conference Championship. The Tigers were the highest-ranked Group of Five team in the College Football Playoff rankings heading into the game with a 12-1 record and now are projected to play at the Cotton Bowl, the biggest bowl game in program history, in Dallas on Dec. 28. “This is a monumental achievement for the Memphis football program,” said Jude Miller, DC (’11), MS, CCSP, advanced practice clinician for Logan and on-site chiropractic physician for the University of Memphis sports teams. “I am looking forward to traveling with the team to provide chiropractic care leading up to the game and on the sidelines at the game.”
Logan’s partnership with the University of Memphis began in August 2018. Dr. Miller was assigned as the team chiropractor, providing chiropractic care to University of Memphis student athletes and overseeing training for Logan Doctor of Chiropractic students. The University of Memphis also serves as a clinical rotation site for Logan’s chiropractic interns.
As part of the University of Memphis team, Dr. Miller works closely with athletic trainers, non-surgical and surgical orthopedists, neurosurgeons, physical therapists and internal medicine specialists. He said the interdisciplinary setting allows for more interaction, knowledge and experience-sharing as they discuss best practices for athlete treatment and care.
